Play Area
In a Community Activities and Facilities Consultation in 2004, it was concluded there was a demand for a play area as well as many other activities on the Coalville estate so alongside plans for ‘Kickstart’, the construction of a temporary play area has taken place.
The temporary play area was completed and opened in autumn 2006, with funding raised by the Coalville Partnership from ‘Awards for All’, Renew North Staffs, the Riverside Impact Fund, and the Robbie Williams ‘Give It Sum’ fund. Design ideas and equipment chosen by local children through consultation done in 2005 were included in the final design, and the facility is well used by the community.
In the long term, it is intended that this temporary Play area will be replaced by improved permanent facilities elsewhere on the site
